Leicht KDC, aka the Leicht Kitchen Design Centre has announced that its new flagship showroom will open in north London’s ‘Finchley Road, known locally as Kitchen Alley’, this coming January.
The new Leicht KDC showroom, in the space formerly occupied by Neil Lerner’s former Poliform Studio on Finchley Road, is set to open January 2020.
Before its collapse, Neil Lerner Kitchens occupied two showrooms on Finchley Road – one specialised in Häcker and the other Poliform.
Leicht KDC’s flagship showroom will trade next door to the recently opened Brandt kitchens showroom, and act as a base for Leicht KDC to expand into the major projects market within north London.
Brandt Kitchens recently announced that it had taken over the Häcker showroom of Neil Lerner next door to Leicht KDC’s new showroom and whilst Leicht KDC is located next door at 487 Finchley Road, the road is referred to locally as "Kitchen Alley' due to the abundance of kitchen retailers, with Moiety, Kutchenhaus, Poggenpohl and more all based there.
Liam Hopper, Leicht KDC Managing Director, said: “The deal to secure this iconic premises was being negotiated since the collapse of Neil Lerner, and we look forward to establishing our presence in north London’s famous ‘kitchen alley.’ Ironically, I set up a small concession here 10 years ago, and I’m now returning with the buying power of three other showrooms and project business. We hope the flagship showroom will provide some healthy competition to similar brands.”
Hopper is a name familiar to the name of Leicht with Liam's father Graham Hopper being a respected industry figure who has been running Leicht UK for over 35 years. The Leicht brand may well run in the Hopper family blood but Liam is well and truly carving out his own reputation and he has recently secured a deal worth £1.4 million with luxury developer Dandara to provide kitchens for 126 plots within the famous Pantiles development in Tunbridge Wells.
The new Leicht KDC showroom will add to the showrooms in Battersea, Sevenoaks & Tunbridge Wells, which are run by a dynamic team of young, cutting edge kitchen designers under the leadership of Liam Hopper.
