Kbb brand GROHE and Three 2025 Design Trends

GROHE the leading global sanitaryware and kitchen fittings manufacturer has identified three interior design trends that are poised to shape the Kbb landscape in 2025

Alongside the microtrends such as colours, textures, materials, and shapes which can vary greatly owing to their nature in being consumer-centric in terms of design preferences, GROHE has outlined that the Kbb industry will be heavily influenced by three macro-trends in 2025, which transcend above the styling preferences and hit at a more large scale emotional connection with the consumer.

The three interior design trends that are poised to shape the Kbb landscape in 2025, according to Kbb brand GROHE are Experiential design, Sustainability & Personalisation and Customisation.

Experiential design

With an ever increasing awareness of well-being and wellness in the home bathroom and a shift towards the implementation of spa level products, design trends have certainly shifted towards bathroom solutions and bathroom spaces that promote relaxation and mindfulness.

With bathrooms and bedrooms now seen as a sanctuary for self-care and revitalisation rather than being limited to their former utilitarian uses, the trend has been gaining momentum for well over a decade and Kbb brands such as GROHE have responded to this shift in demand for 'Experiential Design' as consumers demand more of their homes.

And with bathrooms being reimagined as regenerative spaces – a place for experiences, rather than just functional uses, in doing so refocusing the design from mere products to luxurious experiences is a key driver for the Kbb industry.

For example, AquaSymphony by GROHE lets you escape for a moment and step into a world where the interplay of water renews you, bathing you in softly coloured light and soothing you with relaxing sounds.

Sustainability

Sustainability has become a key focus in both residential and commercial interior design in reconnecting the user of the built environment more with nature and conscious living, making better use of the Earth's finite resources.

From Kbb brands promoting their recycling prowess, energy efficiency and carbon footprints and carbon offset numbers, to other Kbb brands actively making products from fully recycled materials, the marketability of sustainable practices continues to grow year on year.

For example, Oceanix Plastic for Sustainable Handles by Schuller kitchens is the innovative recycling of plastic waste from the oceans, for a more sustainable, environmentally focused source of kitchen design materials.

Personalisation & customisation

The concept of personalisation and customisation is nothing new and global brands from BMW in the car industry to Schuller in the kitchen industry have made it big business to incorporate a sense of personalisation and customisation to the mass market, mass engineered products of cars and kitchens alike.

However, BMW spotted an opportunity to market personalisation and customisation beyond the first owner of its vehicles and whilst the market isnt quite ready to the unlocking of heated seats and paying for them on a monthly basis, you can certainly see that in years to come, stop/start subscriptions for the likes of heated seats (which you dont need 9 months of the year in the UK) would be just as common practice as starting and pausing your Netflix and other subscriptions when you aren't using them.

In the Kbb industry, personalisation and customisation typically involves customising the layout, fixtures, finishes, and accessories to create a Kbb space that reflects a consumers personal style and one which enhances their overall well-being.

But for the foreseeable future we think those personalisation and customisation options will be more like ticking the options list on a new car versus the BMW subscription model.

For example, whilst you can opt for Schuller kitchen drawers and pull-outs to be configured to your personalisation and customisation preferences with hundreds of possible outcomes, you may want to look at the Duravit SensoWash® Shower-Toilets which are now available. These hybrid shower-toilet-bidet combination products can be remote controlled via your phone.

If like us you were thinking of the need to carry a towel to the loo to dry your behind, worry not as the Duravit SensoWash® Shower-Toilets include warm air dryers to prevent soggy bottoms.

Let us hope Duravit dont follow BMW's example and have the drying of your bum on a subscription!
