Contract Kitchens supplier Nobilia GB has opened its new 55,000 sq ft warehouse and head office at Kingsway Business Park in Rochdale.
The Nobilia kitchens supplier for the contracts market is sole supplier of German-manufactured Nobilia kitchens to property developers in England, Scotland and Wales. It has a turnover of £16.7m.
The company has said its new 55,000 sq ft warehouse off the M62 in Manchester would enable the firm to cut remedial times from three weeks to 24 hours for UK clients.
Serving the UK contract kitchen sector for about 20 years, Nobilia GB's Claire Jones, head of sales said: "We chose Kingsway as we deliver all over the UK and it is right next to the M62 motorway. Kingsway also offered the space we needed to put all of our logistics and offices in one location, making our entire operation more efficient.
"With this move we hope to be able to deliver a seamless service to our clients by delivering remedial items within 48 hours."
Rochdale Borough Council and Rochdale Development Agency (RDA) both supported the relocation and expansion project. Councillor John Blundell of Rochdale Borough Council, who is also a director of the RDA, said: "This is a significant investment in Rochdale by a thriving company and the fact that Nobilia GB has chosen to relocate to the borough is further evidence of Rochdale's growing reputation as a place to do business."
Nobilia GB, which counts the likes of Taylor Wimpey and Berkeley Group as its clients, among other UK property developers, has said that the new warehouse is actually the biggest investment in firms history and would see it able to now carry £1 million worth of stock, which would be “ready-to-ship” and deliver on its aims of reducing remedial times from three weeks to 24 hours.
