Brand K Group the UK radiator and bathroom supplier has acquired Falkirk-based manufacturer Carron Bathrooms for an undisclosed sum, marking the group’s ninth UK acquisition to date.
As the UK's largest privately-owned suppliers of radiators and bathroom equipment to independent merchants and showrooms, Brand K Group also have Kartell UK, MX Group, Aqualux, Just Trays, Paladin Radiators, Summerbridge and Vogue UK amongst its portfolio.
Leicestershire-based Aqualux, the shower enclosures, screens and accessories manufacturer entered in administration in September of 2024 and was subsequently acquired by Brand K Group and Paladin Radiators was acquired for an undisclosed seven-figure sum in the summer of 2024 making last year another busy acquisition year for the growing radiator and bathroom supplier.
Based in Bedford Brand K Group employs more than 750 people and turns over in excess of £170m annually.
Carron Bathrooms - A Historic Brand
In 1759, the original Carron Company formed the now-famous ironworks on the banks of the River Carron. The company rode the wave of the Industrial Revolution and was famed for their short-barrelled naval cannons, Carronades, used by the Royal Navy up until the 1850s. The company primarily made stoves and engines to Royalmail letterboxes and the famous red phone boxes that became an iconic feature of modern British history.
As times moved on the original Carron Company began to move away from solely producing ironworks and manufactured sinks and baths but as the market changed and the original Carron Company came to a close, Carron Bathrooms took over and continued the manufacturing of baths on the same site the original company some 250 years previous.
According to Carron Bathrooms the senior management team including managing director David James McMorrine, operations and finance director Jane Miller and technical director Gavin White, will reportedly remain in place to continue to lead and grow the business under its new ownership.
