Marketing director Teresa Arbuckle has been named managing director for Beko UK and Ireland with immediate effect with Arbuckle replacing outgoing chief Ragip Bacioglu who has moved to Turkey to take up the role of assistant general manager/CSO international sales at the Arcelik Group, the parent company of Beko.
Arbuckle joined the company in 2011 as marketing director, having spent two years as group head of marketing strategy and development of Premier Foods. Prior to that, she was vice president of marketing with LeapFrog.
Having led the marketing department at Beko UK for just under four years, she helped create multi-media TV campaigns, has overseen two seasons of FA Cup sponsorship and relaunched the Grundig brand in the UK.
Teresa Arbuckle commented on her promotion: “It’s an exciting time in the industry and I’m looking forward to leading Beko, continuing the growth of the business and evolving our product and service offering to customers.
“Beko has gone from strength to strength in recent years and this year see the Beko brand celebrate its 25th anniversary of trading in the UK, and third year positioned as the UK’s best=selling large home appliance brand. It is an exciting time to be at the company and I look forward to the challenge.”
The appointment of Arbuckle seems a shrewd one in light of recent years, despite being "strength to strength" as per the press release also saw product recalls and negative press around the brand, some of which may have been quietened with the partnership with Nolte and the resurrection of the Grundig brand in early 2014.
