Contract Kitchens News - Wren Kitchens, the UK’s largest kitchen retailer has entered into the contract kitchens market for the first time.
There is no doubting the dominance of the UK kitchen retailer Wren and its year on year growth. Even when Covid and then the Liz Truss 2022 mini budget dealt a near death blow to the UK's building, property, housing and mortgage markets in one swift go, Wren still came away from these two events with continued growth. So much so that the UK model has (so far) been successfully adopted in the US.
Wren Kitchens has gone from opening its 100th UK shop and 1st US store in 2020, to now having 111 in the UK and 14 in the US.
Contracts Market
With news that Wren Kitchens has now entered the contract kitchens market for the first time, the news will no doubt be a worry to the contracts kitchens market current players. But the move could be a shrewd one on Wren's part, given the slow down in the residential kitchens market.
The new contracts kitchens division is being referred to as Wren Contract Kitchens and will be led by new Wren hire Damian Sheridan, as Sales Director.
Damian Sheridan joins Wren with a wealth of experience and knowledge, having spent 25 years plus in the contracts kitchens market and has held sales director roles in the industry for the last 15 of those 25 plus years.
Commenting on his appointment, Damian said: “Wren’s entry into the contracts market is hugely exciting. The sheer scale, reputation and capability of the business is more than impressive, and the sustainable but significant growth that Wren has realised on the retail side demonstrates we have the infrastructure and scope to become a serious contender in the contracts space.”
“The quality and affordability of the products, the passion, foresight and capabilities of the Wren people, supported by best-in-class lead times and award-winning in-house delivery processes, means that the Wren offering will be as irresistible to the developer and housebuilder customers as it is to the retail customer.”, he added.
It's clear that Wren has great foundations to move into the contract kitchens market, with the company already positioned as the UK’s top kitchen retailer and with a strong installations set up.
Wren produces and delivers over 130,000 kitchens a year in the UK and has recently expanded its product range to include fitted bedrooms and the business also invested over £200million in a state-of-the-art, 1.3m sq. ft. production facility, which was fully operational in early 2023.
