Home improvements retailer Wickes is marking the launch if its newly designed store in Croydon Colonnades beginning on Friday July 21.
Toni Letts OBE, Mayor of Croydon, will be attending the launch and visitors will be given 15% off everything in store at the weekend.
The Croydon Colonnades will have new kitchen and bathroom design centres with design consultants offering free advice for visitors.
Bosch, Mkita, Stanley, Karcher and Ronseal are some brands Wickes’ will provide.
Nina Davies, Store Manager at Wickes Croydon Colonnades, commented: “We’ve designed the store to make it easier to shop for your home improvement project. The layout will help guide you to everything that you need for your project in one visit. You’ll find inspirational room sets, worktops, appliances, baths and taps on display and our expert design consultants will be on hand to help you plan your dream space.”
He added: “Our store provides the local area with a go-to destination for quality products that offer real value for money and cater for a variety of DIY needs. We’re confident that the new store will provide everyone with the tools, materials and advice they need to complete their project, from those embarking on their first DIY project right through to experienced tradesmen.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors through our doors this weekend and hope that local residents will come and join us for the celebration.”
The Wickes name goes as far back as 1854, when Henry Dunn Wickes and his brother started a modest operation in the local lumber business in Michigan, USA and in 1972 the first UK Wickes was opened in Whitefield, Manchester. fast forward to today and they have over 230 stores in the UK, with the new one on Croydon being the 31st new store since 2011.
