For 25 years interior and kitchen designer Michael McMorran has been delivering a vast array of projects using brands such as Burbidge and Second Nature in his early career, to the likes of Nobila, Warendorf and Pronorm and now Schuller and Hacker kitchens as part of his own design studio.
His past and present work is both stunning and visually engaging but there is always a sense of ergonomic realness to his designs in that they dont just look great, they also function as intended.
Michael says "For me, I always listen to the client brief and try and create a concept that they will love to spend time in. I see many designs in the industry that may look great at first site but then you know 6-12 months down the line, that the owner of that kitchen will grow to hate because the kitchen isnt planned around the functional aspects."
Here is a look at some of Michaels projects:
We asked Michael about his new venture in Central London and whether he is feeling the same downturn that the rest of the Kbb sector is feeling.
"As I've worked for a number of high end design houses and interior specialists in London for many years the old saying that London is a bubble usually rings true. It is a sad sign of the times that for the majority of people in the country there is a cost of living crisis but as with London, there is such a vast population and a vast economy that for high end kitchens and interiors, its not a volume business but a quality business"
Michael McMorran enjoys working with his clients to create individual kitchens with a love of detail and firmly anchored ergonomics that stand the test of time.
