German kitchen manufacturer Rational has launched a design showcase called the Aesthetic Kitchen Awards 2020.
With the judging panel including industrial designer Karim Rashid, Habitat Architects' Zafar Choudhary and others, the design competition – open to Rational retailers worldwide – is meant to showcase those kitchen designers who can demonstrate a unique interpretation of modern living.
Smart thinking. Tasteful living. Unifying the best of two cultures.
According to Rational, the Aesthetic Kitchen Awards 2020 was created to “establish a platform that aims to encourage kitchen designers and planners to interpret modern living and the kitchen in a unique way – culturally, creatively and socially”.
Aside from showcasing some international talent working with the Rational brand of German kitchens it is hoped the awards will promote the Rational brand to a wider audience.
To be featured in the Aesthetic Kitchen Awards 2020 eligible projects must feature either a Rational kitchen, or elements of one, and must be “considered to be forward-thinking in terms of their planning, design and execution”.
The awards are split into two categories, namely National (Best German Project) and International respectively and three runners up kitchen projects will receive a ‘highly commended’ status.
The entry deadline for the Aesthetic Kitchen Awards is the 21st December 2019 and the official awards event is set to take place during the 2020 EuroCucina kitchen furniture design show in Milan.
