In a first for the Italian premium kitchen appliances brand Bertazzoni has secured its first newbuild contracts in London, in the Brentford Project spearheaded by developer Ballymore.
Bertazzoni is believed to have secured contracts for its products to be used in more than 500 new properties in the central London development which will ultimately feature 112,000 sq m (GEA) of floor space across eleven buildings. The development will include 876 residential units over 47,900 sq/m, 4,000 sq/m of commercial space, 14,000 sq/m of retail space and 8,000 sq/m of leisure/cultural space on Catherine Wheel Road site, Hounslow, West London.
The Brentford Project will also bring a host of community spaces, in particular with the transformation of the Grade II* Listed St Lawrence’s Church – a forgotten masterpiece originally designed by renowned Brentford architect, Thomas Hardwick.
The Brentford Project is being applauded for retaining several heritage buildings and thoroughfares which offer a balanced, sensitive and inspiring interplay of old and new that injects new energy into a wonderful stretch of waterside London that is designed to create a community rather than just souless apartment buildings that are commonplace in most of the developments throughout the country.
Ballymore has engaged three award-winning architectural firms to create this new neighbourhood for The Brentford Project. With architecture by renowned practice, Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, alongside Stirling Prize-recognised architects, Glenn Howells Architects and Maccreanor Lavington the use of Bertazzoni kitchen appliances is a good fit for the project.
Taking inspiration from the original Brentford Dock designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the new apartment blocks have cantilevered “diving-board” balconies (an architectural nod to warehouse gantries) plus lavish roof gardens.
The partnerships, which are the first of their kind in the UK for Italian-headquartered Bertazzoni Kitchen Appliances, will see its induction four- to five-ring range cookers, refrigerator and dishwashers fitted in new, luxury apartments.
Maurizio Severgnini, managing director at Bertazzoni UK & Ireland, said: “We have been in discussions with both developers from an early stage and are delighted to be working with them on these exciting new projects.
“We have previously supplied our products for similar premium housing developments in desirable locations around the world, from New York and Los Angeles to Stockholm and Bangkok. We are excited to now be bringing Bertazzoni to these luxury London homes.
“Our brand has always been rooted in the philosophy of bringing people together to enjoy cooking, so we see a lot of synchronicity between those values and the community focus of these new developments.
“High quality is a hallmark of Bertazzoni products, both in terms of design and functionality. Our partners share that commitment to excellence, and we look forward to making their vision for these developments a reality.”
Property market analysis conducted by estate agent Knight Frank has pointed to Brentford as being “ripe for price growth” and the Brentford Project, with Bertazzoni products adorning the luxury apartments (in close proximity to Heathrow) along two miles of river frontage bordering Kew Gardens and Syon Park are sure to attract buyers with ease.
